The new free edition features key ZBrush sculpting technology Sculptris Pro, a highly streamlined set of brushes and materials, and a simplified user interface. The new sculpting tools in blender are pretty nice too ,they let you do it in true 3D rather than dropping your model on the canvas, and using a texture master script like Zbrush does. Pixologic has released ZBrushCoreMini, a free cut-down non-commercial version of its industry-standard ZBrush digital sculpting software, aimed at new artists of all ages. Other applications have Zbrush “like” tools…they dont even compare! By the same company that developed ZBrush and Pixologic, Sculptris is a free digital sculpting program. There is no alternative to Zbrush, it is totally a unique application. If you find limitations, you can always go with the paid software later on. I highly reccomend this program!! it is a great compliment to blender 3d!!Įven though it is possible to model with Zbrush, it is still more of an illustration /textruing tool. The normal map exporter and heightmap exporter still are not done for Zbrush 3, it will be a free plugin… was supposed to be released last month. Mudbox takes a much more traditional approach to sculpting, looking and working much like any other 3D app, with familiar menus, palettes and layer systems.
